A verbal or written Talaq alone is not legally complete. Divorce becomes legally recognised only after the notice is served on the Union Council, the 90-day reconciliation period passes, and a divorce effectiveness / NADRA divorce certificate is issued. This certificate is the final, provable evidence of divorce in Pakistan and abroad.
For Talaq, the law requires a mandatory 90-day (roughly three months) reconciliation period from the date the Union Council receives notice, after which the certificate is issued. Khula through the Family Court can vary but is often resolved within a few months. We work to complete every step without avoidable delay.

Talaq is initiated by the husband and processed through the Union Council. Khula is sought by the wife through the Family Court, and she may return or forgo her Haq Mehr. Both result in a valid dissolution once registered.
